Ballymoney Town Centre is blooming this summer thanks to a Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Estates outreach project, which invited local primary and pre-school children to create colourful hanging basket displays now adorning the town centre.
The colourful displays are now proudly decorating the streets of Ballymoney, adding a vibrant splash of colour to the town centre.
The schools involved that took part were St Brigid's Primary School, Ballymoney Model, Leaney Primary School, Stepping Stones Playgroup and Ballymoney Nursery School.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins, visited the town this week to admire the displays.
She said: “Ballymoney is looking fantastic with these beautiful hanging baskets, and I would like to congratulate all the schools that took part in the project.
“It is wonderful to see young children getting involved in horticulture, learning new skills and taking pride in their local area.
“Each hanging basket pole is labelled with the name of the school that created it, making it easy for families and visitors to spot their school's display and celebrate the children's achievements.”
This is the first year that Ballymoney Town Centre has taken part in the initiative.
Similar projects have previously been delivered in Coleraine and Ballycastle.
