Book of Condolence opened in memory of Robert Anderson.

A Book of Condolence has been opened in Portrush Town Hall in memory of Robert Anderson.

Mr Anderson, who worked as the Harbour Master in Portrush, passed away on November 4th.

The gesture, which follows a request from Portrush Heritage Group, is supported by the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.

Expressing her condolences, The Mayor, Councillor Brenda Chivers said: “Robert’s sudden passing came as a very sad shock to us all. He was well-known across the Causeway Coast and Glens area and beyond for his maritime experience, his inimitable knowledge of local history and his passion for the sea.

“His death has left a huge void in the local community and our thoughts and prayers remain with his family and friends at this sad time.”

Members of the public who wish to convey their sympathies to the Anderson family can sign the Book of Condolence in Portrush Town Hall from November 22nd -29th during opening hours outlined below.

Thursday 22nd November: 11am – 5pm & 7.30pm – 9pm

Friday 23rd November: 11.30am – 7.30pm

Saturday 24th November: 10.30am – 5.30pm

Sunday 25th November: 1.30pm – 4pm

Monday 26th November: 10am – noon

Tuesday 27th November: 10.30am – 4.30pm

Wednesday28th November: 9.30am – 9.30pm

Thursday 29th November: 10.30am – 5.30pm & 7.30pm – 9pm
