Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council invite communities to help celebrate Queen’s 90th Birthday throughout the Borough

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is inviting groups from across the Borough to apply for funding to help celebrate the momentous occasion of the 90th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.

Groups are invited to apply for grants of up to £250 to organise activities in their communities.  Projects must take place on the weekend of the Queen’s official birthday (June 10th – 12th).  Activities must be open for all residents and offer an opportunity for communities and residents to find out more about what is going on in the locality and who their neighbours are.

Applications for a range of costs relating to street parties and other community activities can be supported.  Priority will be given to projects that promote wide community involvement, with the maximum grant being £250. 

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan commented “I am delighted Council has been able to reserve this amount of money to help local groups celebrate this once in a lifetime event. I hope as many of the local groups in are community as possible take advantage of this opportunity, and help Causeway Coast and Glens area in marking The Queen’s birthday.”

Details about the fund and how to apply will be posted on the grants/funding page of Council’s website or alternatively email the Funding Unit at grants@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk.

Applications should be made by following the links on the website to Council’s online funding hub. The opening date for applications for the Queen’s Birthday Fund is Tuesday 3rd of May, deadline for submission is 12.00noon on Wednesday 18th May 2016. Decisions on the applications will be made by Council on 24th May 2016.
