Coleraine Art Society celebrates 70 years with an Anniversary Exhibition at Flowerfield Arts Centre

Coleraine Art Society celebrates its 70th birthday this year and is marking this major milestone with a special art exhibition in Flowerfield Arts Centre.
Special guest, Julian Friers, one of Europe’s finest wildlife artists, will officially open the show at 7.30pm on Thursday 8th November, followed by an informal drinks reception which everyone is welcome to attend
Coleraine Art Society was founded in October 1948 and held its very first exhibition within a month of founding, showing work by enthusiastic members, amateur and professional. Now 70 years on it, is established as a major showcase giving local artists working in all sorts of media, an opportunity to display their work.
The exhibition includes a special feature on the Society’s past events and works by founding members including Alymer Armstrong and Robert Sellar.
There will the opportunity to learn more about the Society at the free gallery talk in Flowerfield Arts Centre by Society President Ken Ward on Tuesday 21st November at 7.30 pm. Admission is free.
The special birthday exhibition will be open to the public from November 8th – November 30th.
Flowerfield Galleries are open Monday – Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 10am-1pm
