Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival Art Exhibition Opens in Limavady

Celebrating its 20th festival year in 2016, the hugely successful Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival present their annual art exhibition at the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady from 13 May to 11 June.

As the third annual art exhibition developed as part of the music festival, this year’s show features the contemporary artwork of James Baker, David Blair, Pat Irwin, Claire Lagan, Conor Larkin, Syra Larkin, Leo O’Connor and Ethan Whitman.

The eight artists were asked to create new work reflecting the cultural aspects or beauty of the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

Desima Connolly, Arts & Cultural Services Officer, comments ‘The annual art exhibition has grown from strength to strength, becoming a valuable addition and forerunner to the music festival which launches in our Danny Boy Auditorium on 8 June. Now in its 20th year, the music festival is firmly established as one of the cultural highlights of Limavady and the North West’s events calendar and now, the Causeway Coast and Glens region.’

The exhibition is displaid in the Arts Centre’s Keady and Broighter galleries and admission to both is free. The exhibition will be officially opened by Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan at the launch event on Friday 13th May from 7pm with live music and refreshments. All are welcome.  For further information, please visit www.roevalleyarts.com or contact the team on 02877760650.
