Fab Lab workshops for adults and children at Flowerfield Arts Centre

A series of taster FabLab workshops for adults and children will take place in November at Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart.
The workshops, run by Charlie Smyth, will introduce participants to the world of coding, printing and design.
A workshop focusing on the basics of 3D Design and 3D printing software will take place on Saturday 2nd November. Children aged 8-12 years can participate from 10am-11.50am and children aged 13-17years from 12noon-1.50pm. The cost of the class is £12. Adults will have the opportunity to take part on Wednesday 6th November from 7pm-9pm at a cost of £18. All participants will be able to print their own individual designs which they will be able to collect from the centre the week after their workshop.
‘An introduction to Coding the BBC Micro bit will take place on Saturday 16th November from 10am-11.50am for children aged 8-12 years. From 12noon-1.50pm, teenager aged 13-17 years can take part. Both workshops cost £12 each. A similar workshop for adults will take place on Wednesday 4th December from 7pm-9pm at a cost of £18. Participants will learn what the BBC Micro bit is and teach basic skills on creating scrolling text and animations. It will also provide ideas for more advanced users.
