Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has unveiled its Autumn Active Kids Programme, offering a fantastic range of sporting and physical activity opportunities for children and young people across the Borough.

Delivered by Council’s Sport & Wellbeing Development Unit, the 10-week programme will feature a variety of activities including Gymnastics, Football, Table Tennis, Basketball and Pan Disability, with sessions taking place at venues across Causeway Coast and Glens.

The programme gets underway week commencing 14 September, providing young people with the opportunity to get active, develop new skills and enjoy sport in a fun and welcoming environment.

These grassroots programmes for boys and girls aged 5-14 years, provides the opportunity to experience sports before thinking about moving into a recognised junior sports club in the Borough.

New to the programme in 2026 is one of the fastest growing sports for young people, Basketball in Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre Ballymoney, teaching young players core techniques like dribbling, passing, shooting and team play.

Sports Development Manager, John Fall said: “I’m really excited about the variety of the programme on offer this Autumn.

“This programme provides a range of after school sporting opportunities. Our courses are developed with young people in mind and offer exceptional coaching and supervision with lots of emphasis on having fun.”

Enrolment for all courses will open on 1st September at 9am

  • Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney
  • Roe Valley Leisure Centre, Limavady

Each course costs £43 per participant with the Pan Disability course at £28
