Get Creative this Autumn at Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre

Get creative this September with two brilliant courses for adults starting at Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, Limavady.

The popular ‘Painting for Pleasure’ returns for another twelve week run starting on Friday 16th September from 1.30pm-3.30pm. Tutor, Louie Winward, will guide participants in creating still life or landscape paintings using a variety of different techniques and mediums including watercolour and oil.

Participants will also be invited to exhibit their work in an annual exhibition by the painting group at the Arts Centre which takes place this December. This informal course is suitable for beginners and more experienced artists.

‘Life Drawing’ with tutor and artist Sebastiano Furci starts on Thursday 29th September from 7pm-9pm and continues for eight weeks. The tradition of life drawing hones creative skills in composition, perspective and analytical drawing and is brilliant for students building their portfolio as well as professional artists.

On Thursday 22nd September acclaimed animation artist and illustrator Corrina Askin presents an informative and engaging talk on her creative work and professional practice at 2pm. Currently showing some of her illustrations and animations in the ‘From Sketch to Screen’ exhibition at the Arts Centre, Corrina currently divides her time between Belfast, Donegal and Paris.

Providing animation and illustration for international television and film companies, Corrina has also won international awards for her stunning book illustration. This is a unique opportunity for students and creative practitioners to gain invaluable insight into the creative sector. The talk is free but places must be booked in advance.
