We are looking forward to welcoming you all to Ballymoney this Saturday 24th May to celebrate the life of road racing legend Joey Dunlop.

Hopefully the sun will be shining for a day of nostalgia that’s not to be missed!

Here's all you need to know about the ‘Joey 25’ celebrations:

⏰ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭/𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡?

The celebration starts at 2pm and finishes at 10pm.

No the event is FREE and open to the public.

Yes, the event is family friendly and suitable for all ages.

Parking is available at various sites in Ballymoney town centre, including Megaw Park, Castle St, Church St and Market Street.

Bike parking at Seymour Street, Ballymoney Methodist Church and FMC Auctions.

Accessible parking is available at Castle St and Charles St.

The Park & Ride will be operating from Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, 33 Garryduff Road, Ballymoney BT53 7DB.

The bus will leave from JDLC commencing 2pm, dropping off at Cockpit Brae / Meeting House Street. The last return journey will be at 10.30pm.

Display of original Joey Dunlop Bikes, Meet the Riders and autograph signings, kids entertainment, food vans, Arai Helmet launch and other Joey Dunlop memorabilia.

Fan Zone 2 – Paddock at Dalriada School

Display of bikes and rider autograph signings

Fan Zone 3 – Joey’s Bar

Live entertainment, display of bikes, rider autograph signings, chat shows

Ballymoney Museum

Joey Dunlop 25 Exhibition open from 9am – 6pm and 8pm – 10pm. Please note closure during the parade of Joey’s bikes.

🏍 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭?

The parade of Joey’s bikes will take place from 6pm – 8pm. Route as follows: North Road, High St, Main St, Seymour St, Station. Return via Townhead St.

👀 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬?

Members of the public will be able to view the parade from all Fan Zones and the streets following the parade route.

Fan Zone 1 (Townhead Street Car Park), Fan Zone 2 (Paddock at Dalriada School), Fan Zone 3 (Joey’s Bar) and Seymour Street Car Park (opposite Dunlop Memorial Gardens) have dedicated viewing areas.

🚫 𝐈𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜?
Roads will close to vehicle access around Ballymoney town centre from 5pm – 9pm.

The roads closed for the duration are: St. James Road, High St, Main St, Townhead St, Model School Road, Seymour St, and the junction of Meetinghouse St, Castle St, Main St and Seymour St.

Recommended accessible viewing from Seymour Street Car Park (opposite Dunlop Memorial Gardens).

A Mobile Accessible Changing Unit (MACU) will be onsite at Millsport Car Park (opposite train station) from 11am to 11pm.

St. John's Ambulance will be onsite at Millsport Car Park (opposite train station), Church St and a First Aid Tent in Fan Zone 1 (Townhead Street Car Park.

🛰 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐔𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞

The use of private drones will not be permitted for the duration of the event. If any drone interferes with the running of this event, proceedings may be paused until organisers are confident it is safe for participants to continue without harm.

🐾 𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲?
You are more than welcome to bring your four-legged friends to enjoy the event, as long as they are kept on a lead, and you clean up after them.
