Calling all budding artists, photographers, creatives and Limavady locals!
What makes Limavady a great place to live, work, shop, eat and enjoy local? Now is your chance to show us.
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council's Town & Village Management Team, in partnership with Limavady Town Centre Forum and Fibrus Broadband, is inviting the local community to enter an exciting new competition to design a series of new banners for Limavady town centre.
The winning designs will be transformed into banners and displayed throughout the town centre meaning your creativity could become a permanent part of Limavady's streetscape and help shape how the town is presented for years to come.
Limavady has recently been recognised as Northern Ireland's Best Location to Work from Home in the inaugural Fibrus Broadband Remote Working Index. The independent study highlights the positive impact of excellent digital connectivity and the changing way people work across Northern Ireland.
But Limavady is about much more than working from home.
It's a place with a strong community, independent businesses, beautiful surroundings, rich heritage and a vibrant programme of arts, culture, sport and local events including the wonderful Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre.
That's why we're asking you to help us celebrate:
“Limavady is Home - The Best Place to Work, Shop, Eat & Enjoy Local.”
What does that mean to you?
Perhaps it's your favourite view across the Roe Valley. Maybe it's the buzz of the town centre, a much-loved local business, a familiar face, a piece of Limavady's history or something that simply makes you proud to call the town home.
Whatever Limavady means to you, we want to see it through your eyes.
You don't need to be a professional artist to enter.
Whether you're an experienced designer, an enthusiastic photographer, a talented painter, a keen sketcher or simply someone with a great idea,
Your entry could be a:
- Drawing or painting
- Photograph
- Sketch
- Creative visual concept
Each entry should be visually striking, celebrate the unique character of Limavady and contribute positively to the town centre experience. A short explanation telling us about the inspiration behind your design should also be included.
WHAT MAKES LIMAVADY SPECIAL TO YOU?
Your design could celebrate:
- The welcoming community and town centre
- Independent shops, cafés, restaurants and local businesses
- The River Roe, Binevenagh Mountain and our beautiful landscapes
- Limavady's heritage, culture and history
- Arts, music, sport and community life
- A favourite place, memory or local landmark
- Or anything else that captures the spirit, pride and identity of Limavady
A judging panel will select the winning entries, which will then be developed into a new collection of banners for display throughout Limavady town centre.
This isn't just a chance to win a competition; it's a chance to put your mark on the town centre.
It's an opportunity to celebrate the places, people and stories that make Limavady special – and to help create a brighter, more vibrant town centre that everyone can enjoy.
So, what does Limavady mean to you?
Pick up your camera. Grab your paintbrush. Start sketching. Get creative.
And show us why Limavady is home.
