Mayor celebrates Millburn Primary’s remarkable four-cup success

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins welcomed the football team from Millburn Primary School to a special Mayor’s Reception last week in recognition of an exceptional year of sporting success.

The Primary 6 and 7 pupils have enjoyed a remarkable season, securing four major trophies: the Doherty Cup, the Mullan Cup, the NI Cup and the Causeway Sports Cup.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said:

"It is a tremendous honour to welcome the footballers of Millburn Primary School to celebrate what has been an extraordinary year of achievement.

"Winning four major trophies in a single season is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, dedication, teamwork and sporting excellence shown by every player, coach and volunteer involved.

"These young stars have not only brought great pride to their school and families, but they have also become wonderful ambassadors for our community."

The reception provided an opportunity to recognise the dedication and commitment of the players, as well as the support of staff and coaches throughout the season.

The team was joined by teachers Ruairi McClean and Barry Butcher, along with Millburn Primary School Principal Sharon Lamont.
