The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens has held a special civic reception to honour Trevor Harte for more than three decades of dedication and service to pool in Northern Ireland.
Trevor has held a number of important roles within the sport and has dedicated many years to supporting Northern Ireland Disability Pool, helping to create opportunities for people with disabilities to participate, compete and enjoy the sport they love.
What began more than 30 years ago has grown into an organisation providing opportunities for players across Northern Ireland, from local competitions to national and international events.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, congratulated Trevor on his outstanding contribution to the sport.
She said: “Trevor’s dedication, commitment and determination over many years have helped create opportunities, friendships and lasting memories for generations of players, as well as their families and carers.
“His contribution to disability pool in Northern Ireland is a wonderful example of how sport can bring people together, build confidence and create a strong sense of community.
“I am delighted to welcome Trevor to the Council for this special reception and to recognise the significant contribution he has made to the sport and to the many people who have benefited from his commitment and passion.”
At the same reception, the Mayor also congratulated Coleraine teenager Archie Henderson on his recent successes, including being crowned European Champion and Nations Cup Champion.
At just 14 years old, Archie is already making his mark on the pool world, with his recent achievements reflecting the dedication, talent and determination he brings to the sport.
