A Ballymoney-based club for older people is celebrating a special milestone, marking 70 years of supporting the local community.
To mark the anniversary, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, welcomed members of Ballymoney Evergreen Club to Cloonavin for a special reception.
The Club, which has received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, provides an important service for older people, offering opportunities for social interaction, recreation and wellbeing.
Speaking following the reception, Mayor, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said:
“I was delighted to welcome members of Ballymoney Evergreen Club to Cloonavin and to have the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the valuable contribution they make to our local community.
“The Club provides an important source of social, recreational and wellbeing opportunities for older people, helping to promote connection, participation and quality of life.
“The dedication of everyone involved is to be commended, and I would like to thank the members, volunteers and organisers for their continued commitment to making the Club such a valued part of the community.”
