The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins, has announced Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke as one of her chosen charities during her term in office.
Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke is Northern Ireland's leading local health charity, supporting people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions through care, prevention and recovery services. The charity works across communities to help individuals and families rebuild their lives following diagnosis, illness and treatment.
Speaking about the partnership, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said: "Having lost, like so many others, a loved one to a severe stroke, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke is a charity that is very close to my heart.
"I have seen first-hand the impact that stroke can have on individuals and families, and the importance of having support available during some of life's most difficult moments. The work carried out by Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke provides practical help, care and reassurance to people across our communities every day.
"As Mayor, I am honoured to support the charity throughout my term in office and help raise awareness of the vital services they provide. I would encourage everyone to get involved in our fundraising efforts over the coming year. Every donation, no matter how large or small, will help the charity continue supporting local people when they need it most."
Throughout the year, the Mayor will work with Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity and the support it provides to people and families across Northern Ireland.
