Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart is hosting a mini festival of workshops, arts, crafts, entertainment, music and fancy dress to help the Halloween holidays go with a bang.
The events will take place from October 26th – 30th, coinciding with the half term break and all the ghoulish goings on around this time of the year.
The mini festival will begin with Halloween Howlers arts and crafts workshops for children aged 5-11 on Saturday 26th October and Monday 28th October from 11am - 1pm. Participants will make some horrifying decorations and fancy dress! All materials provided. Workshops cost £10 per child and you can secure your place now by ringing the Booking Office 028 7083 1400.
On Tuesday 29th October, Flowerfield’s Artist in Residence Corrina Askin, will lead a puppet making workshop inspired by her characters Mr Bones and the Hungry Ghost. This is a FREE workshop, so booking in advance is advised. Suitable for 5+ years.
Why not make a day of it by calling in to visit the raconteur, entertainer and singer Paul Brady as he takes us on a whistle stop tour of Halloween around the world. Think Horrible Histories with a Halloween twist. Suitable for 8+ years, but fun for adults too. This is a FREE event, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Last but not least, Frightening Flowerfield opens its doors to all with a free Family Fun Day on Wednesday 30th October filled with Halloween treats from art and craft workshops, live music and face painters from 12 noon to 2.30pm followed by the popular Flowerfield Fancy Dress Parade led by Chip ‘Chipstick’ Bailey from 2.30pm to 3pm.
