Businesses across Causeway Coast and Glens are being encouraged to prepare for a new capital investment programme designed to support growth, diversification and improved productivity.

The Causeway Coast and Glens Local Economic Partnership (LEP) Capital Grant Programme will offer grants of between £5,000 and £30,000, providing up to 70% of eligible project costs for businesses and social enterprises seeking to make significant capital investments.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins said: “Our local businesses are central to the economic success of Causeway Coast and Glens, and it is important that we provide practical support that enables them to invest, grow and remain competitive.

“This programme provides businesses with an opportunity to make capital investments that can increase their capacity, improve productivity and help them pursue new products and markets.

“I would encourage eligible businesses across the Borough with plans for growth to look carefully at the programme and attend one of the upcoming workshops to find out more.”

The programme will support eligible investment in new equipment, machinery and capital infrastructure that can help businesses introduce new or improved products and services, increase productive capacity, improve efficiency and access new markets.

The programme has been developed through the Causeway Coast and Glens Local Economic Partnership and is funded through the Department for the Economy's Sub-Regional Economic Plan.

The Capital Grant Programme will take an outcomes-focused approach, with applications assessed competitively against the impact the proposed investment is expected to deliver.

Projects will be assessed against areas including job creation and sustainability, increased sales and access to new markets, productivity and efficiency improvements, contribution to Net Zero, and the business's capacity to successfully deliver the proposed investment.

The programme is open to eligible micro businesses, small businesses and social enterprises located and actively trading within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area. Applicants must have been trading for a minimum of two years and must produce goods and/or provide tradeable services.

A series of mandatory pre-application workshops will be held to help businesses understand the programme, eligibility requirements and application process.

Applications will open on Causeway Coast and Glen Borough Council’s online funding portal on Monday 7 September 2026 and close at 5.00pm on Monday 5 October 2026.

Eligible organisations interested in applying are encouraged to review the full programme guidance and register for a mandatory pre-application workshop through the Council's website.
