Age Friendly Causeway is proud to support Positive Ageing Month this October.

The Age Friendly programme aims to ensure older people are included in community life, have access to services and opportunities, and can enjoy living in Causeway Coast and Glens.

Age Friendly Causeway has brought together a Positive Ageing Month 2026 booklet, featuring information on events and activities taking place throughout October, as well as local groups, services and opportunities available throughout the year.

This year’s theme, ‘What’s on Your Doorstep?’, encourages older people to discover and make the most of the opportunities available in their local communities.

From getting active and meeting new people, to intergenerational activities, community events and opportunities to have your voice heard, there are lots of ways to connect, participate and make the most of what’s on your doorstep.

The booklet is designed as a year-round resource, helping older residents find out what’s available in their local community and connect with organisations, groups and services across Causeway Coast and Glens.

And it’s more than an October events calendar. The booklet has been designed as a year-round resource, with information about local groups and activities, the Age Friendly Partnership and its members, and ways to connect with opportunities and support in your local community.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins said: “Positive Ageing Month is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the contribution older people make to our Borough and to highlight the many opportunities available in our local communities.

“I would encourage everyone to take a look at the booklet and see what’s happening on their doorstep.”
