Screening of ‘David Hockney at the Royal Academy of Arts’ coming to Flowerfield Arts Centre

A screening of ‘David Hockney at the Royal Academy of Arts’ will take place at Flowerfield Arts Centre on Thursday 24th January.

The film, which explores the artist and some of his acclaimed exhibitions, is part of the Art Centre’s ‘Exhibition on Screen’ series.

Widely regarded as one of the UK’s most popular artists, Hockney is a global sensation with exhibitions in London, New York and Paris attracting millions of visitors.

The film allows up close access to this 21st century master and his two recent landmark exhibitions at The Royal Academy of Arts in London.

Featuring intimate and in-depth interviews with Hockney, audiences will enjoy rare insight into the man behind such iconic works such as ‘A Bigger Splash’ and ‘A Closer Grand Canyon.’

Throughout the Phil Grabsky directed film, Hockney reveals anecdotes from across his artistic and personal life including his first trip abroad to Egypt in 1963 to the effects of the death of his close personal friend Jonathan Silver in 1997, right up to today.

Screenings will take place at 11am and 3pm Tickets priced at £5 are available from Flowerfield Box Office by calling 028 7083 1400. A group booking discount is available for schools. The film will last approximately two hours and is perfect for art lovers and students aged 15 and over.
