Causeway Coast and Glens Arts Services are delighted to launch the January – April 2026 Arts Guide.
Showcasing a vibrant programme of live performance, exhibitions, film, creative workshops and community activity at Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady, and Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart, alongside wider arts programming across the Borough.
From internationally acclaimed theatre screenings and live music to immersive exhibitions, family-friendly performances and hands-on creative opportunities for all ages, the new season celebrates creativity, connection and the return of the light.
Flowerfield Arts Centre
Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart welcomes 2026 with a rich programme of live events, screenings and exhibitions.
Flowerfield are delighted to partner with National Theatre Live, screening three standout productions this season. Audiences can enjoy Mrs Warren’s Profession (15th January), The Fifth Step (12th February), and a sharp, stylish and darkly funny Hamlet (12th March).
Film and art lovers can also look forward to the return of Exhibition on Screen with cinematic explorations of iconic artists including Caravaggio and Turner & Constable, bringing some of the world’s greatest art to the big screen in Portstewart.
Live music highlights include performances from folk legend Andy Irvine (27th February), a special concert focused on the works of Philip Glass from renowned Ruth McGinley (6th March), and an evening of soulful folk and roots music from Brian Houston (17th April).
The galleries at Flowerfield offer a compelling programme of exhibitions. In January, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland Digital & Immersive Showcase (22nd – 24th January) brings together leading artists working with virtual reality, animation, digital opera and immersive storytelling. Eleanor Wheeler’s exhibition For the Love of Dog (and Other Creatures) (14th February – 28th March) explores the deep connections between humans, animals and the natural world through expressive ceramic works and Spring concludes with This Beyond by Stuart Quigley (11th April – 23rd May), a luminous exhibition inspired by landscapes, memory and shifting light.
Alongside exhibitions and events, Flowerfield’s studios will be buzzing with creative workshops in fused glass, linocut printing, ceramics, Tiffany-style glass, textiles, painting, felting, silver jewellery making and a wide range of children’s activities.
Roe Valley Arts Centre
Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre has an exciting season ahead, with live music, theatre, comedy, family events and exhibitions to inspire all ages. The year kicks off with a performance from Frances Black on 3rd January, followed by live events such as The Dubliner – The Luke Kelly Story on 31st January, a heartfelt celebration of one of Ireland’s most iconic folk voices, Heidi Talbot’s Gráinne Ní Mháille Neamráit,(14th March honours Ireland’s women through myth, history and song, and comedy from the Give My Head Peace gang (28th February).
The much-loved Steinbeck Festival returns with a thought-provoking opening event, For and Against a United Ireland, featuring Northern Ireland’s finest interviewer Mark Carruthers in conversation with award-winning journalist and author Sam McBride. Drawing on McBride’s timely and provocative book, co-written with Fintan O’Toole, the discussion explores one of the defining questions of our time, presenting informed and balanced perspectives on the constitutional debate. Across the festival, audiences can also look forward to a rich programme of talks, exhibitions, theatre and creative events, continuing the Steinbeck Festival’s tradition of thoughtful conversation, artistic exploration and engagement with contemporary social themes.
Families with younger children can enjoy Maiden Voyage Dance’s Moonlight Dream on 10th February, a gentle, sensory-rich dance and live music journey created especially for 0–6-year-olds. During February half-term, Roe Valley welcomes the Northern Ireland Science Festival Roadshow, featuring W5 on Tour: The Hunt – Extreme Existence and a live appearance from Nick Arnold, creator of the Horrible Science series.
Roe Valley Arts Centre offers a vibrant mix of creative workshops designed to spark imagination. From storytelling-inspired crafts and immersive art sessions to hands-on activities for children and adults, each workshop invites you to explore new skills and express your creativity in a welcoming, inspiring space.
Mums Meet and Make continues monthly at both arts centres, offering a welcoming creative space for parents on maternity leave with babies under one year. The Creative Care Programme provides supportive workshops for people impacted by cancer and for carers, reinforcing the role of the arts in wellbeing and connection.
