Visitors to Coleraine Armed Forces Day are being offered a rare opportunity to climb aboard a Royal Navy vessel and experience life at sea first-hand.
HMS Biter, a Royal Navy patrol vessel based at HM Naval Base Clyde in Faslane, will be open to the public throughout the event, allowing visitors to step on board, meet the crew and learn more about the vital role the vessel plays in protecting the UK's coastal interests.
One of only 16 vessels forming the Royal Navy's Coastal Forces Squadron, HMS Biter operates across UK waters carrying out maritime security operations, supporting defence activity and helping train the next generation of Royal Navy sailors.
The vessel recently took part in Exercise Tamber Shield 26, a joint operation involving Royal Navy and Royal Norwegian Navy forces, demonstrating the UK's ongoing commitment to maritime security and international cooperation.
For many visitors, the chance to explore a working Royal Navy vessel and speak directly with serving personnel will be one of the highlights of the day. Crew members will be on hand to answer questions and provide an insight into life in the Royal Navy, offering a unique behind-the-scenes look at the vessel and its operations.
