Local tourism and hospitality businesses gathered at the Lodge Hotel on Tuesday 24 March for a dynamic Marketing Workshop hosted by Visit Causeway Coast and Glens, designed to equip the sector with practical tools and insights ahead of the 2026 tourism season.
The workshop brought together industry professionals from across the Borough to explore emerging opportunities, strengthen marketing approaches, and maximise visibility in an increasingly competitive tourism landscape.
Attendees heard from a panel of expert speakers, including Carmel Scott, Head of Marketing at Tourism Northern Ireland; Kerry McMullan, Fleadh Cheoil Operations Lead with Belfast City Council; and Mark McGrann, Destination Marketing Officer with Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Destination Management team.
The speakers highlighted key initiatives and collaborative opportunities, including connections to Fleadh Cheoil events, as well as regional and national marketing campaigns that local businesses can leverage to enhance their reach and attract visitors.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan, said: “It’s really encouraging to see so many of our local tourism and hospitality businesses coming together to share ideas and plan for the season ahead. Events like this are invaluable in helping businesses build confidence in their marketing and make the most of the opportunities available to them.
“Tourism is a key driver for our local economy, and by continuing to support and work together as a sector, we can ensure the Causeway Coast and Glens remains a must-visit destination for years to come.”
Kerrie McGonigle, Destination Manager, added: “We were delighted to welcome our expert speakers to share insights and practical advice. Businesses now have a clearer view of the marketing opportunities that can support a strong 2026 season.”
Visit Causeway Coast and Glens will continue to deliver collaborative initiatives, events, and targeted marketing activity for tourism businesses during 2026.
