Twenty years, countless market days and plenty of favourites – now it’s your turn to pick the winners.

What’s the one stall you always stop at? The food you can’t leave without? The handmade find that catches your eye every time?

Established in 2006, the Causeway Speciality Market is now Northern Ireland’s largest regular outdoor market, bringing together talented traders, makers and producers on the second and fourth Saturday of every month.

To mark 20 years of the market, the public are being invited to choose their favourite stalls, artisan food and craft products as part of the Causeway Speciality Market Anniversary Awards.

There are three categories to choose from:

  • Favourite Market Stall
  • Best Artisan Food Product
  • Best Artisan Craft Product

From delicious local produce and tempting treats to beautiful handmade pieces and one-of-a-kind finds, the Causeway Speciality Market has built its reputation on offering shoppers something a little different.

At the heart of it all are the traders themselves – people with a passion for what they do, a story behind their products and a commitment to creating something worth coming back for.

For some traders, the market has been part of their journey for many years. For others, it has provided a platform to introduce their products to new customers. Together, they have helped build a market that continues to evolve while retaining the character and sense of discovery that keeps people coming back.

As the 20th anniversary celebrations continue, the Causeway Speciality Market Anniversary Awards offer an opportunity for the people who visit the market to put those traders in the spotlight and show their appreciation.

The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said:

“For 20 years, the Causeway Speciality Market has been brought to life by the people behind the stalls. From traders who have been part of its journey for many years, to newer faces bringing fresh ideas and creativity, each has played a part in making the market what it is today.

“These awards give the public an opportunity to recognise the traders and products they have come to know and love. Whether it’s a long-standing favourite or a new discovery, I would encourage everyone to get involved, cast their vote and show their support.

“Twenty years is a fantastic milestone, and I’m delighted that we’re marking it by putting our traders centre stage – because without them, there simply wouldn’t be a Causeway Speciality Market to celebrate.”

The Causeway Speciality Market Anniversary Awards will take place on Thursday 17 September, when the winning traders will be announced as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations.

Voting is now open to the public.
