As we approach the end of the first twelve months construction work on Ballycastle Leisure Centre, Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council would like to provide an update on the works completed to date.
Since commencement in February 2025 significant progress has been made across various aspects of the project. Initial works included the road works involving creation of a crossing point and filter lane on Quay Road itself along with site clearance work in preparation for the main construction.
As the year has progressed the Swimming Pool tank has been excavated and constructed. The Leisure Centre Steelwork was completed in December which allows for the commencement of internal and external block work and roofing, while wider site works associated with pitch perimeter walking paths and drainage continue.
The next twelve months will focus on completion of the Leisure Centre shell and the internal building fabric. Externally works will progress on the creation of a pump track, car park and a new inclusive play park.
