The Centre for Food & Drug Discovery (CFDD), based at Ulster University’s Coleraine campus, is a flagship innovation project designed to position the region as a leader in pharmaceutical research, functional food innovation, and health science. The centre will provide a complete “end‑to‑end” research and development environment, supporting businesses from early‑stage discovery through to clinical trials and near‑market product development. By giving companies access to advanced technologies and specialist expertise, CFDD will attract investment, stimulate high‑value research activity, and create new employment opportunities. The project is expected to deliver significant economic benefits, including job creation, increased research income, and substantial growth in regional productivity, helping to establish Causeway Coast & Glens as a hub for cutting‑edge life sciences innovation
