About Ruth McGinley

Ruth McGinley is a highly sought-after collaborator who has worked with musicians from backgrounds including jazz, folk and electronic. By the age of 17, she had already gained widespread recognition as one of Ireland’s leading pianists, winning countless accolades, including the piano finals of both the BBC and RTÉ Young Musician of the Year awards.

Since then, her career has been wide-ranging and daring. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, London Mozart Players, National Symphony Orchestra, RTÉ Orchestra and All-Star Orchestra and as a solo recitalist throughout the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

She broadcast regularly for BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, BBC Radio Ulster and was honoured to be invited to perform as a soloist at the BBC Proms in the Park in 2016.

Ruth’s latest release Aura is a collaboration with renowned composer Neil Martin and celebrates the glorious traditional airs of Ireland, shining light on these beautifully composed and crafted melodies from incredibly skilled musicians.
