Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins, has congratulated a group of talented young players from Ballymoney Rugby Club in recognition of their sporting achievements.
The Primary 7 mini rugby players were welcomed to Cloonavin for a special reception last week, where the Mayor described them as a "dedicated and unstoppable".
Many of the players have been teammates since they were just four and five years old. As they now graduate from the club's mini rugby section, they do so having built lasting friendships and a strong team spirit.
Speaking at the reception, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Dawn Huggins said: "The dedication shown by this group of young players is truly remarkable. Their commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork have been inspiring to see.
"I would also like to pay tribute to their parents, families and coaches, who give so generously of their time to support and encourage these young athletes.
“I firmly believe that sport brings people together. It teaches young people respect, teamwork and community spirit, while helping them develop confidence and resilience.
"I was delighted to learn they proudly represented Ballymoney Rugby Club and the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area at the Leicester Tigers Under-11 Tournament in Bognor Regis, England.
“Congratulations to everyone involved, and I wish these talented young players every success as they progress to the next stage of their rugby journey."
