Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is excited to bring magical Christmas events to the four main locations in the Borough, helping to spread festive cheer this Christmas season.

Our young residents will be happy to know that Santa has made time for some very special visits to Ballymoney, Limavady, Ballycastle and Coleraine.

To mark the start of the Christmas season in Causeway Coast and Glens, opening celebrations will commence in Ballymoney on Thursday 20th November, followed by Limavady on Saturday 22nd November, Ballycastle on Thursday 27th November, and concluding with Coleraine on Friday 28th November.

During his visit, Santa will officially switch on the Christmas lights and also welcome children aged 11 and under to a free magical meet-and-greet Grotto.

Each festive event promises a fantastic programme of family entertainment to help get everyone in the festive spirit.

Visitors to each main event will be treated to a backdrop of Christmas music, a festive parade featuring up to 100 local children, walkabout characters, balloon modellers, photo booths, and of course, special guest Santa, all culminating in the Christmas lights switch on.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan said: “I am very much looking forward to welcoming families to our traditional Christmas programme of events, helping to spread festive cheer throughout Causeway Coast and Glens.

“There will be something for people of all ages to enjoy, with parades, Santa’s Grotto and of course our Christmas lights. These events are a fantastic opportunity to bring people together for some festive family fun while also enjoying the wonderful festive atmosphere in our town centres.

“I would encourage you to support the wide variety of businesses based in our towns and villages this November and December by shopping local where you can. Our Council area has a wonderful variety of retailers, perfect for finding that special and unique gift this Christmas.”

Quiet Time bookings

For those with additional needs, Santa has made time to have sessions with children and adults who require a quieter space to share their wishes for Christmas.

These can be arranged by contacting the Events Teams, by emailing events@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk (please indicate which Town you will be visiting).
