Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre is excited to announce the opening of the ‘Postcards’ exhibition, showcasing the stunning photographs of James Hughes accompanied by the imaginative and satirical texts by John Brown.
This exhibition runs from May 24 to June 29 and features captivating images of places around the world, presented in a unique postcard format. Each piece serves to enrich the viewer’s experience, connecting art with thought and creativity.
James Hughes is a Northern Irish photographer and artist whose photographic practice ranges from social documentary to fine art photography and John Brown is a poet, editor and visual artist from Limavady who is based in Belfast.
The ‘Postcards’ exhibition invites visitors to explore and appreciate the stories behind each image, as well as the global perspectives in the voice of various contributors but with a ghostwritten twist. A companion book will also be available, further expanding on the themes and inspirations found within the exhibition.
The exhibition launches on Saturday 24 May at 1pm, offering a fantastic opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy an insightful talk about their curation process. The event is free, and all are welcome to attend.
To accompany the exhibition, James Hughes will also host a Photography workshop on Saturday 7 June from 10am to 1pm. In this masterclass he’ll share techniques focusing on engaging not just the eyes and brain, but also the heart, in photography.
