Celebrate Volunteers Week at The Beach!

Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council in conjunction with Limavady Volunteer Centre and Causeway Volunteer Centre will be hosting three celebration beach events during volunteer week, which run from Tuesday 7th until Thursday 9th June.

Councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan, Mayor of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council commented, “Volunteers play a pivotal role in our local community and without them many organisations would cease to exist.  It is fitting to celebrate by running an event which allows volunteers to be recognised for their commitment and hard work.”

‘Those who can, do, those who can do more, volunteer’- Unknown.

The beach events will be held on the following dates, Tuesday 7th June at Benone Beach from 2pm-4pm, Wednesday 8th June at Portrush West from 11am-1pm and Thursday 9th June at Ballycastle seafront from 6pm-8pm.

Mary Mc Nickle from Causeway Volunteer Centre commented, “Volunteers Week is an annual reminder to say thank you to volunteers.  Volunteers do amazing work and it’s great that once a year the whole community gets together to say a big collective thank you.”

Ashleen Schenning, Limavady Volunteer Centre added, “I am delighted to be involved with the event this year and to celebrate the brilliant work of volunteers, the beach events will be a little different for our volunteers and it’s a little something that we can give back to our volunteers for all their work throughout the year.’

If you would like to nominate volunteers to attend any of the beach events, please contact Stephanie Grundon at the Causeway Volunteer Centre on 028 70358285 or email volunteer@causewayvc.org.
