Causeway Coast and Glens has recognised their Loneliness Champions at a special event held in Limavady.

The Causeway Loneliness Network hosted the recognition event in Limavady Community Development Initiative.

The event celebrated four Loneliness Champions who have demonstrated a genuine and ongoing commitment to helping prevent and address loneliness and positively impact the lives of others living in the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan,
who attended the event said: “It is a real pleasure to be here today at such an important event.

“It is brilliant to have this opportunity to recognise and celebrate the impact that the Loneliness Champions have, and no doubt will continue to have, within our local community.”

Gabrielle Quinn, Chair of the Causeway Loneliness Network, remarked: “Today we celebrate the quiet yet powerful impact of kindness, connection, and compassion.

“Our Loneliness Champions remind us that even the smallest act of reaching out can change a life, and together, we are building a stronger, more caring community.”

The event included a self-care session and also provided an opportunity for those in attendance to connect with one another, to share experiences and to celebrate the collective difference being made across the Causeway area.

Organisations interested in joining the Causeway Loneliness Network are encouraged to email: healthandwellbeingteam@northerntrust.hscni.net.
