Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has launched a new online reporting service to make it easier for members of the public to report environmental crime across the Borough.
Available through the Council’s website, the service allows users to quickly and conveniently report issues such as littering, dog fouling and fly-tipping at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Reports can include photographs, comments and location details. The system can also generate a GPS grid reference to help Council officers identify the precise location of incidents, which is particularly useful in remote areas where an address may not be available.
Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Dawn Huggins, said: "Causeway Coast and Glens is recognised for its beautiful landscapes, vibrant towns and villages, and the high standards of cleanliness that residents and visitors regularly comment on.
"While our teams work hard every day to maintain these standards, this new online reporting service will further enhance those efforts by making it quicker and easier for people to let us know about environmental crime.
"By working together with our communities, we can respond more effectively to issues such as littering, dog fouling and fly-tipping, helping to ensure our Borough remains a clean, welcoming and attractive place for everyone."
The information provided will help the Council respond more effectively to reports, identify environmental crime hotspot areas and support targeted action to address issues across the Borough. Reports will be assessed and progressed for further investigation or clean-up action as appropriate.
Members of the public are encouraged to use this new service to report environmental crime and help the Council take action to keep the Borough clean and welcoming.
