Full house enjoys ‘The Quiet Man’ at Flowerfield Arts Centre
Mon, September 30, 2019
Flowerfield Arts Centre welcomed a full house on Wednesday 25th September for a screening of the classic film ‘The Quiet Man’.
The ‘dementia-friendly’ event was aimed at older people, and the organisers were delighted to see so many avail of the opportunity to see the much-loved film on the Arts Centre’s big screen for free.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Councillor Sean Bateson who welcomed the audience said: “It was great to see the Arts Centre so busy with members of the community enjoying this free event. There is a busy programme taking place at Flowerfield this autumn and I would encourage everyone to check out what’s happening and visit this fantastic facility for themselves.”
Along with the morning event, a second screening was held in the evening for families and the wider community.
This project was made possible through funding from the National Lottery awarded to the British Film Institute (BFI) and managed by Film Hub NI, Queens University, Belfast. Flowerfield Arts Centre will be holding more events like this in the future, for older people, young adults and children.
