Get set for a fright with Halloween celebrations across the Causeway Coast and Glens

Halloween will be celebrated across the Causeway Coast and Glens with a series of spooktacular events.

Look out for fancy dress competitions, dazzling fire poi performers, spooky characters and live music performances along with fantastic fireworks displays in Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Coleraine and Limavady.

Looking forward to the celebrations, the Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Councillor Brenda Chivers said: “We have lots of exciting Halloween fun planned for all the family throughout the area and we look forward to seeing you there! The series of fantastic events makes the Causeway Coast and Glens the ideal destination to enjoy an autumn break.

Coleraine

Halloween celebrations get underway on Saturday 27th October with a feast of fabulous fun in Rugby Avenue Playing Fields.

The venue will be transformed with a scarily spectacular range of activities and entertainment beginning at 3pm with a family friendly fun fair.

There’ll also be street theatre by the Zombrothers along with a visit from Dracula and a Wicked Witch, dazzling fire poi performers, live music from The Groove Robbers and a fantastic fireworks display.

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is delighted to introduce free Slime Workshops to the event for the first time beginning with a Quiet Time Slime Workshop  from 5pm – 6.30pm for children with additional needs and continuing until 8.30pm open to all!

The Groove Robbers will provide live entertainment from 7.10pm – 9pm taking a break for the must-see fireworks display at 8.30pm

Ballymoney

The town will host its annual celebrations on Monday 29th October beginning at 6pm with a family friendly fun fair.

There’ll also be a flaming vampire juggling LED clubs, Parah the glow-in-the dark hula-hoop performer, dazzling fire poi, a visit from Frankestein and a Wizard and live music from The Fundamentals as well as a fantastic fireworks display.

Free Slime Workshops will take place at the event for the first time beginning with a Quiet Time Slime Workshop from 5pm – 6.30pm for children with additional needs and continuing until 8.30pm that is open to all.

At 6.30pm, a Lantern Parade, organised by The Ullans Centre, will leave from Castlecroft Square and travel to the Showgrounds to be greeted by DJ Codie Murray.

Live music from The Fundamentals from 7.20pm will precede the fireworks at 8.30pm before the band play a finale set.

Limavady

The spooky fun gets underway on Tuesday 30th October in Limavady.

Roe Mill Playing Fields will be transformed with a scarily spectacular range of activities and entertainment beginning at 7pm alongside a family friendly lantern parade from the LCDI building.

There’ll be live music from DJ Ned, walkabout characters, dazzling fire poi performers, a cross community youth performance and a fantastic fireworks display.

A free Quiet Time Sensory Workshop will take place from 5.30pm- 7pm for children with additional needs. Look out for the gazebo at the playing fields and drop-in.

The fireworks will take place at 8.15pm.

Ballycastle

The spectacular Halloween festivities in Ballycastle will take place on Wednesday 31st October at The Seafront.

The town will be transformed by a scarily spectacular range of activities and entertainment with the 30 Mile limit band kicking off the evening at the Seafront from 6.30pm. Also, look out for the parade which departs Dalriada Hospital lower car park from 7pm. This year’s parade includes a phoenix fire float, dazzling fire performers, a spectre on stilts, the monster truck and a butler on his penny farthing bicycle as they make their way through the streets to the Seafront where local band 30 Mile Limit will perform ahead of a fantastic fireworks display at 8.30pm.

Also, for the first time this year a free Quiet Time Sensory Workshop will take place from 5pm- 6.30pm providing a creative outlet for children with additional needs. Look out for our gazebo at the Seafront.

Fancy dress competitions

Fancy dress competitions will take place in all four towns. These are open to babies, children and young people with great prizes up for grabs in two age categories 0-5 and 6-11. We are looking forward to seeing all ghosts, ghouls and creatures of the night compete for one of our top prizes!
