Good Relations programme continues with a virtual Ulster Scots and Irish language event

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Good Relations Hear Here programme continues with a virtual evening of Ulster Scots and Irish language on Tuesday 2nd February at 7pm via Zoom.
‘From a KIST o WURDS to An CÚPLA FOCAL’, the live event will see Liam Logan and Linda Ervine share their extensive experience of working within Ulster Scots and Irish Language communities, recounting stories of working in the field of language promotion and their passion for Irish and Ulster Scots.

The Hear Here programme began on Burns Night on January 26th with over 50 participants enjoying a talk by historian David Hume MBE on the history and background to Burns and his influence on the Weaver poets such as James Orr. Storytelling and poetry, which is a rich part of our culture and tradition, was provided by Liz Weir, Storyteller-in-residence with Libraries NI. No Burns Night would be complete without the address to the Haggis which was kindly provided virtually by Ulster Scots Community Network along with music and songs by Robert Burns from An Corraiste/ The Luck Penny.
This programme is supported by The Executive Office through the District Council Good Relations Programme as part of the Together: Building a United Community and Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
