Halloween officially returns to Causeway Coast and Glens this October, and visitors are in for a real treat with spooktacular activities including a newly added sensory evening in Coleraine.
The Borough’s four main towns will offer free ‘Halloween Happenings’ events from Saturday 25th October through to Friday 31st October 2025 and the programme promises both a varied and exciting range of activities for everyone to enjoy this Halloween.
Visitors will be able to soak up the scary atmosphere of a zombie inspired haunted house in Ballymoney on Saturday 25th October, while the excitement moves to Ballycastle on Monday 27th October for the annual seafront fireworks alongside a wall of terror and seasonal photobooth.
The two-day event in Coleraine commences with the newly added all-inclusive family-friendly evening on Wednesday 29th October. Then on Thursday evening, the energy ramps up with a full noise fueled programme. Both evenings will deliver a tree-lined spooky trail really adding to the seasonal atmosphere.
On Halloween night, Friday 31st October Limavady will host the final exciting Halloween programme including Limavady Drama Club characters and fire performers.
Looking forward to this year’s events, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan said: “The new all-inclusive event in Coleraine is a very welcome addition to the 2025 Halloween programme for those with additional needs.
“Thank you to Council’s Events team who have once again organised a fantastic programme of free activities and fun for all the family at each of the four main towns in our Council area.
“I would encourage you to wrap up well, bring the family out and come along to enjoy our ‘Halloween Happenings’ events this October.”
Ahead of each of the main events starting at 6.30pm, Council is pleased to offer quiet time sessions for individuals with additional needs taking place from 5.30pm – 6.30pm. Each session will include some of the following, friendly characters, potion making, wall of terror, and a range of calm amusements.
A limited number of disabled parking spaces are pre-bookable and can be booked by contacting the Bushmills Visitor Information Centre on 028 2073 0390. Council’s Mobile Accessible Changing Unit will also be available at each event site.

BALLYMONEY – Saturday 25th October 2025
The first event will place in Ballymoney in collaboration with The Ullans Speaking Association. This year Ballymoney Showgrounds will host CJ Entertainments, amusements, balloon modelling, creepy characters and fire performers for all the family to enjoy from 6.30pm.
Prior to this the children’s fancy dress competition will take place in Castlecroft Square from 6pm (with judging at 6.10pm); following this the parade will make its way towards Ballymoney Showgrounds for 6:30pm.
Visitors will also be able to drop by a seasonal haunted house where Kelly Neill Dance Co will deliver what is guaranteed to be a performance not to be missed. Ballymoney’s celebrations will finish with a grand finale of fireworks at 8.30pm.
BALLYCASTLE - Monday 27th October
Ballycastle will take over the Halloween celebrations with a fancy-dress competition held at Dalriada Hospital Lower Car Park at 6.10pm, followed by the ever-popular Halloween parade setting off at 6.30pm, making its way through the town to the seafront.
At the seafront, visitors are invited to enjoy a wide range of activities and entertainment including amusements, DJ music, and carnival games. While those who come along will also be able to get involved in a circus workshop, spooky walkabouts, wall of terror and photobooth, ahead of a spectacular seafront fireworks finale at 8.30pm.
COLERAINE - Wednesday 29th October (quiet evening) & Thursday 30th October
Coleraine will host two spooktacular nights of Halloween fun at Ulster University Campus on Wednesday 29th October and Thursday 30th October.
During the Halloween events free parking will be available at Ulster University, and a free fully accessible park and ride bus service will also operate from The Mall car park, starting from 6pm. Please note, normal town centre car parking charges will apply until 6.30pm.
On Wednesday 29th October, enjoy a very special spooktacular evening of gentle thrills and all-inclusive family-friendly fun. Visitors will be able to enjoy a spooky trail, with calm amusements and friendly but haunting characters. There will be reduced noise across the event site, and low noise fireworks. This evening is ideal for families who prefer a more relaxed Halloween experience.
On Thursday evening, the energy ramps up with a full programme of activities including a DJ, circus skills, stilt walkers, spooky characters. There will also fire poi displays with plenty of thrills and chills for a frightful and enjoyable night!
If you’re feeling brave, meet some of the terrifying characters along the eerie spooky trail. At 7.30pm there will be a fancy dress competition for the children and a breathtaking fireworks display at 8.30pm.
LIMAVADY – Friday 31st October 2025
This year’s final ‘Halloween Happening’ event will take place in Limavady at Roe Mill Recreation Grounds on Friday 31st October.
The evening will feature a range of activities including trick or treat, potion making, chocolate apple decorating. Visitors will also be able to enjoy a witches cauldron toss, hook a duck, circus skills, falconry display and the popular Kidz Farm creepy critters.
