Roe Valley Arts Centre, Limavady is thrilled to welcome legendary Irish band Hothouse Flowers on Friday 1 May at 8pm for a special acoustic performance.
Something amazing happens when Hothouse Flowers step onto the stage - an energy shaped by over forty years of performing worldwide, yet no two shows are ever the same. With a sense of musical adventure, the band invites the audience into a shared experience where, for a few hours, the world feels transformed.
There is an unpredictable spark in their performances, harkening back to their “Risk” days on Dublin’s late-night dancefloors. Drawing on their expansive repertoire, Hothouse Flowers create shows unique to each time and place. Improvisation allows them to explore their brightest and darkest influences, while humour and musical dialogue keep every performance alive and spontaneous.
Band members Fiachna, Liam, and Peter are trained traditional musicians, bringing moments of ancestral and cultural connection to their shows. From high-energy, Doors-like workouts to heartfelt tributes such as Currachaí na Tra Báine, the band balances rock, soul, traditional, and jam-band sensibilities, making each concert a distinctive musical journey.
Despite their career spanning over four decades, Hothouse Flowers continue to play each night as if it could be their best yet. Songs are still being written, emotions shared, and risks taken - whether in a tiny club, a festival field, or an arena, the sense of unfinished business and creative passion remains.
This is a rare opportunity to experience a legendary band in an intimate acoustic setting, celebrating four decades of music, creativity, and culture.
