Make this Halloween one to remember by coming along to some fang-tastic events

Hallowe’en 2015 in Roe Valley Arts and Culture Centre, is shaping up to be a spooktacular treat not to be missed with an array of events and activities to suit everyone! Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council invites everyone to get in the mood for Halloween, as the Borough lights up with a vast number of entertaining events, particularly in the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre Limavady. On Thursday, 29th October visitors can come along and listen to Dr Bob Curran as he talks about conjurers and cunning men, exploring stories of sorcerers and magicians in both Irish mythology and folktales. Admission is free for everyone. Desima Connelly, Arts and Cultural Services Manager for Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre commented; “from Thursday 29th October until Saturday 31st October, a ‘Scary Art Club’ for children will take place in the Centre. “I’d encourage parents and guardians to sign your kids up for these amazingly spooky creative two-part workshops where they will make frighteningly good masks, treat bowls, hats and props for Halloween parties. Materials will be provided, but make sure children wear clothes that you won’t mind getting messy!” This event costs £15 and will run as two workshops: Workshop number one is for 5 to 7 year olds, running from 12.30pm until 2.30pm. Workshop two is for 8 to 12 year olds, running from 12.30pm until 2.30pm. To book a place, call the Box Office on 028 777 60650. Desima continued, “As part of the Centre’s Film Hub NI and British Film Institute funded film programme, I will be presenting a spine-tingling screening of acclaimed director Stanley Kubrick’s classic ‘The Shining’ on Friday, 30th October at 10.30pm. (Certificate 15). “On Saturday 31st October a children’s’ Hallowe’en Party will take place at Drumceatt Square which is outside the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, from 3.00pm until 5.00pm. There will be lots of music and games as well as the chance to win prizes for the best fancy dress costume, sponsored by Roe Valley Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free.” Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council will be hosting a number of Halloween parties through the Borough over the Halloween weekend. The event in Limavady will be held at Roe Mill Road Recreation Grounds with a fireworks extravaganza on Halloween night, Saturday the 31st October. Commencing at 6.00pm, there will be entertainment from DJ Ned, with a prize awarded to the best homemade fancy dress costume. The fireworks display will take place from 7.00pm, again, admission is free for everyone to come along and join in the fun!
