Hello, I’m Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor Oliver McMullan.

I would like to wish all our residents a peaceful Christmas where you find time to connect with family or friends and create special memories to cherish.

At this time of year, I think it’s especially important to check on those in our community who are vulnerable, older or those who may not have family or friends close by; remind them they are not alone and encourage them to talk about the things they are worried about.

Christmas can be a very stressful time for many of us, especially those who are experiencing difficult diagnosis or facing life changing illnesses.

My charity partner, the Children’s Hospice, cares for children of all ages, who have life-limiting conditions or who require support at the end of their lives.

I would encourage you all to keep those children in your thoughts this festive season and support the Hospice to make Christmas special for their families.

I am very proud to be Mayor and work alongside Deputy Mayor Alderman Stewart and my fellow Elected Members to promote and improve our Council area and meet all the inspiring people who live here.

To those special people who will volunteer over the Christmas period, thank you for the work you do in our communities.

From the Glens of Antrim and Ballycastle, to Coleraine, Ballymoney and Bushmills and beyond, it is my wish that each of you enjoy the festive period and find time to pause, enjoy all Causeway Coast and Glens has to offer and live in the moment.

As Mayor, I wish each and every person a very heartfelt Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Councillor Oliver McMullan
