Do you know a local sports star? Do they deserve some recognition?

Nominations are now open for the second annual Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Sports Awards.

The Gala evening will take place on Friday, 4th November in the Lodge Hotel in Coleraine.

Organisers are keen to build on the success of last year when the event was held for the first time.

The Awards recognise the contribution of athletes, coaches and administrators across the Causeway Coast and Glens area.

Regional heats supported by the local Sports Councils will take place in Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady and Moyle prior to the main event.

Heat winners across 12 categories will then go forward to the gala evening where the overall winners will be announced.

Individual and club nominees for each regional heat must reside or compete within their respective area.

You can nominate in as many categories as you wish as long as your nomination meets the agreed criteria.

This year’s awards will be assessed on sporting achievements from the 1st September 2015 – 31st August 2016.

Nomination forms are available from Coleraine Leisure Centre, Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Roe Valley Leisure Centre, Sheskburn Recreation Centre and the Leisure and Development Department at Cloonavin.

Application Packs can be downloaded below or on request by email from June.mcdowell@causewaycoastandglens.gov.uk.

Application forms must be returned no later than 4pm on Monday 26th September 2016.
