Does the future of Portrush matter to you?
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is urging all interested parties to attend a Consultation Forum in Portrush Town Hall this evening (Thursday, September 29th) at 7pm
The public event will focus on the town's regeneration plans.
The Council understands that the views of the local community, residents, traders, visitors, community groups, schools and all interested parties should be at the core of the resort's future.
Half a million pounds has already been secured from the Executive to redevelop the town's train station and take forward the high-level design of a public realm scheme for the town centre.
However, there is potential for further significant investment.
Councillors and Council officers, along with representatives from the Department of Communities and AECOM, the design team, will all be present at the forum event.
There will be opportunities for the public to engage with them, and discuss future regeneration plans.
The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey, said: "All those with an interest in Portrush should attend this event on Thursday evening. Engagement with local stakeholders will play a crucial part in regeneration plans. As a Council we are keen to listen to the views of everyone.
“It is important to understand that exciting opportunities lie before us and we must capitalise on these in order to develop a sustainable tourism economy which will reaffirm Portrush’s position as Northern Ireland’s premier resort destination.”
