The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens has hosted a reception to congratulate the Heart of the Glens Festival Committee members on their recent event success.

The annual event has been running since 1990 in the Co. Antrim village of Cushendall. It now one of the largest community festivals in Northern Ireland, hosting a range of cultural and family fun events.

The 2025 festival, which took place from 2nd – 10th August, provided a jam-packed programme of over 100 events throughout the 9 day period. Some of the main events included the opening float and lorry parade, food festival evening, Lurig Challenge Run, vintage fun day, country music night and the grand finale street ceili with the ‘Largest Waves of Tory’.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, Councillor McMullan said: “I was delighted to welcome the committee members from Heart of the Glens to Sheskburn House to celebrate their hard work in delivering a fun-filled and enjoyable festival for their local community.

“Heart of the Glens has grown in popularity over the last number of years, with visitors coming from far and wide to enjoy the unique street festival atmosphere.

“I would like to commend the dedicated group of volunteers who give up their time to run this fantastic event and I wish them every success for their festival in 2026.”
