THE LOUGH FOYLE FERRY, LINKS THE WILD ATLANTIC WAY TO THE CAUSEWAY COAST

Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council are pleased to be associated with the Lough Foyle Ferry service which currently runs between Magilligan Point on the Causeway Coast and Greencastle on the Wild Atlantic.

With a 20% price reduction from last year, a number of improvements have been made to the service under the new management of Frazer Ferries. With prolonged operating hours during July and August, a continuous roll on/roll off shuttle service offers non-stop sailings back and forth with popular discounts available.

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Alderman Maura Hickey commented, “We are delighted to be associated with Frazer Ferries. Having the Lough Foyle Ferry up and running again is a major boost for tourism in our area, linking the picturesque Wild Atlantic Way to the beautiful Causeway Coastal Route. The service will increase tourism and economy on either side, initially creating 15 new jobs and will generate increased traffic for local business in the area. Taking the Ferry, will significantly reduce the driving time between Belfast/Dublin and Inishowen whilst linking two of the world’s greatest coastal drives, the Causeway Coast and the Wild Atlantic, with views of Rathlin Island and Scotland in the distance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved for their hard work, the Ferry is beautiful, the views are spectacular and I believe it has a bright future ahead.”
