Sports Grant & Bursary Programme 2025-26

The Sports Grant & Bursary Programme is about supporting local athletes and clubs to develop sport in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.

If you or your organisation is successful in securing a grant, you will be contractually obliged to work closely with the Sports Development Managers in the Council, including active participation in any review processes and the provision of monitoring and evaluation information as required.

Council will consider 100% funding of total eligible costs up to a maximum of £400 for eligible applications from Sports Clubs, National Governing Bodies, or Individuals. Full details can be found in the guidance notes.

Element 1:

  • International Representation - Maximum £400.00

Element 2:

  • Safety Equipment - Maximum £200.00
  • Coach Education - Maximum £300.00
  • Club Seeding Grant - Maximum £150.00
  • Sporting Event - Maximum £400.00

This is a rolling grant programme and will remain open throughout the year until the budget has been exhausted.

Health & Wellbeing Grants Programme 2025-26

The Health and Wellbeing Grant Programme is for sporting and community organisations to promote the positive mental health and wellbeing of residents in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council Area.

If you or your organisation is successful in securing a grant, you will be contractually obliged to work closely with the Sports Development Officers in the Council, including active participation in any review processes and the provision of monitoring and evaluation information as required.

Applicants can apply for grants of 100% of costs up to a maximum of £1000 towards project/ activity costs.

The types of expenditure that the grant can contribute towards include:

  • Projects that support increased participation in activities that promote good physical and mental well-being within their communities
  • Project specific venue hire
  • Project specific travel within Northern Ireland
  • Facilitator fees for mental health and wellbeing specific facilitation fees
  • Project specific equipment

Sport NI - Olympic Legacy Funding

The Olympic Legacy Fund is a £1million pound investment programme, delivered by Sport NI in partnership with Crowdfunder UK. The fund aims to improve the quality of offering at club/community sports facilities, encouraging people to engage in sport and physical activity. Supported projects will leave a lasting community legacy from the success of Northern Ireland athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic/Paralympic Games.
