AIB and TU Dublin Self Employment for Persons with Disabilities Programme 2025 – Apply Now!
An exciting new opportunity is now available to people with disabilities in Northern Ireland. The Department for the Economy is delighted to announce a ground breaking collaboration with Go Succeed and Disability Action NI to bring TU Dublin’s Self Employment for Persons with Disabilities Programme to Northern Ireland for the very first time.
Hosted and delivered by TU Dublin, and proudly sponsored by AIB, the Self Employment for Persons with Disabilities programme is about breaking down barriers and ensuring that disabled people have access to the skills and support needed to become successful entrepreneurs.
Participants in Northern Ireland can also receive localised support from Disability Action NI, who will assist with recruitment, onboarding, and offer in-person support throughout the course.
The programme is open to disabled people, including those with visible, invisible, sensory, learning, mental health, or neurodivergent conditions who wish to start their own business. This course is specifically designed for people at the early stages of developing a business idea. If you're already running a business or looking for broader entrepreneurship training, this may not be the best fit.
Why should you take part?
The programme has already seen remarkable success in the Republic of Ireland with several participants having already begun the journey of launching their own start-ups, ranging from innovative products to creative enterprises. Their success underscores the importance of programs like this in making entrepreneurship accessible to all, with over 90% of participants each year stating that they feel more empowered to re-enter the labour market after completing the programme.
As the programme is significantly oversubscribed each year, early applications are advised.
