Consumer Protection

The aim of the Consumer Protection section is to protect the consumer against the risk of injury from unsafe goods by ensuring that those which are manufactured, supplied and/or utilised within the Borough are safe, fit for use, of genuine quality and correctly labelled. This is done by carrying out inspections of premises, planned initiatives, promoting consumers awareness, responding to product hazard warnings, the investigation of complaints and where necessary taking appropriate enforcement action.
